You can apply the same transition to multiple photos, you just need to choose which photos you want in the top window pane (or as mentioned, "apple-A" to select all your slideshow photos). The transition you apply to the currently selected photo will determine how that photo transitions into the next photo in the slideshow. The Transition menu works very similarly. So, if you wanted to make all your photos appear as black and white, first press "apple-A" or go up to "Edit->Select All," and then choose Black and White from the Effect menu. Note that when you choose an effect, the effect is applied only to the selected photo(s). The "Effect" menu lets you quickly set your photos to black and white or sepia tone. After clicking on Preview, iPhoto will show you two slides worth of your slideshow, using the photo you selected and the next one after that (remember, the order your slideshow plays is from left to right in the top window pane). Navigate through your photos in the top window pane and select the two (adjacent) photos you want to test. If you want to quickly see what a transition looks like between two photos in your slideshow, use the preview button. You can click-drag your photos in the top window pane to rearrange the order of them in the slideshow. The slideshow will play in the order the photos appear in the top window pane (left to right). Here is a quick rundown of what the different buttons do:Ĭlicking the play button will play your entire slideshow, fullscreen, with all the photos in your slideshow, using all the current settings. Some of these slideshow controls are self explanatory, while others are not so intuitive. The lower pane of the window will show you a larger preview of the photo that is currently selected.īelow the large preview, you will see the slideshow editing controls. The photos you selected for your slideshow will be visible in the top pane of the window. Use the image below as a guideĪfter clicking the "slideshow" button, the iPhoto window will shift to a new view, and you will notice a new item for your slideshow is created in the left menu bar. After your photos are selected, click the "Slideshow" button down towards the bottom of the iPhoto window. Do not worry about the order you select them, you can adjust the order later. From within iPhoto, first select all the photos you would like to have included in your slideshow (to select your photos, you can click-drag a box around them, or you can click each one while holding the apple key). Once you have your images in iPhoto, and your music/audio in iTunes, you can now create your slideshow.
